Season One · The Signature Presentation

Episode 04 of 06

There’s More to You

Uncle Bob has brilliant ideas and years of speeches behind him. One dream keeps calling him forward.

Uncle Bob fumbles and stumbles. He knows something is amiss, but he can’t quite put his finger on it. He has brilliant ideas, but lacks the skill to articulate his thoughts into a coherent message that shifts the audience and makes an impact in their lives.

Uncle Bob isn’t here to have fun or hang out. He is serious about becoming a speaker who can make an impact. Somewhere, his dream keeps nagging him. There’s something more to you, Uncle Bob.

That lingering feeling leads him to examine where he is after all these years of one-off speeches. He has put in the time. Why is becoming the speaker he wants to be still such a struggle?

A Dream He Keeps Coming Back To

Bob senses his desire to become a better speaker could lead to something even bigger. But is that even plausible? He keeps shying away from the thought that his ideas and expertise could become keynotes, workshops and training programmes. He has even thought about writing a book.

Between where he stands and that possibility is a fog. From time to time, it lifts enough for him to see what he might become. Then he struggles through another speech and wonders whether he is getting ahead of himself.

Perhaps you know that feeling. You have something worth sharing, but communicating its value can be harder than doing the work itself. You start questioning how far you can go when you are still struggling with what is in front of you.

The Call He Must Answer

Bob wants to look capable. It is uncomfortable to stand before people and let them see him struggle. Going after a bigger dream means risking more of that, with no assurance that he will succeed.

But the dream keeps returning. This time, Bob decides to stand for it. It is the call he must answer.

As the presentation becomes stronger, so does the person delivering it.

Own Your Idea

Bob commits to developing one of those ideas into a Signature Presentation he can refine and master. He will stay with it long enough to build the ability he has been reaching for all these years: to stand before an audience and make his ideas matter in their lives.

As the presentation becomes stronger, so does the person delivering it.

Bob is taking responsibility for becoming the speaker he wants to be.

There is something more to you, Uncle Bob. Now go find out how much.
